How to order

• If you need a product from our On-Line Catalog without any modifications, just e-mail* your request along with your payment.  All prices are valid as long as you can see them in the catalog but can be changed without notice.
• For custom made electronic devices, either send us a complete circuit diagram or describe in details what kind of device you need.  You will receive our quote on price and delivery terms, in the shortest possible time.
• Please remember that that we are small volume producers.  Due to continuing improvements of our products appearance or some parameters of the device you get may be slightly different from what is shown in the catalog.  If you need exact copy of the unit you have seen in the lab next door or received last year, please let us know.

Shipping Cost & Terms

DOMESTIC:
We offer two standard flat rate shipping options for all shipments with gross weight under 4 lb (~1.8 kg), within continental US: A) $17.00 per order for US Priority Mail (USPS), and B) $30 per order for UPS or FedEx Ground. The most essential difference between these options is that packages sent via USPS are delivered without recipient signature and for this reason are hard to trace if they did not reach intended recipient.  While only two or three shipments were lost or delayed over the period of 20+ years, please note that finding package delivered to right address is the recipient responsibility.  Unless you provide specific instructions for shipping, we will chose method that we believe is the best.  Cost of heavier or rush shipping (2 day, overnight etc.) and  is equal to rounded actual shipping cost plus $10 handling fee.
INTERNATIONAL:
Cost of international shipments varies significantly depending on the country and carrier chosen.  We will gladly provide you with price quote.  Country of destination fees, taxes and custom clearance is recipient responsibility.  In most countries research institutions are exempt from these fees and taxes.  However, these exemptions are not always automatic, sometimes it is necessary for the recipient to provide proof of tax status to port of entry custom authorities.  To avoid delays in customs many parcel carriers require to specify which account to be used in case of custom charges.  For this reason it is the best to use recipient FedEx, DHL or other carrier account for all shipping costs.  In this case we only charge $20 per order handling fee.  

Most items listed "in stock" are shipped same or next day after payment.  Items from the catalog that are not available for immediate shipment will be shipped as they become available.  Items not available after 30 days may be canceled at your request and refunded or credited.  Complex items, like BLM rigs etc., usually require additional pre-shipping assembly, testing or custom ordered modifications that may cause delays.  

If shipped product is lost or delivery delayed by shipping carrier, we will do whatever possible to assist in resolving this issue.  However, we reserve the right to delay shipping of the replacement for lost items until shipping carrier complete case investigation.

Equipment Installation  and Training
We are experts in planar bilayer (BLM) technique, liposome preparation, video and conventional microscopy, mechanics and electronics.  If you need assistance with setting up BLM workstation, or with integration of our products into your own design, or just need on site expert advise on anything close to the above mentioned fields, please contact us and one of our professionals will visit you.  Within US it cost $450 first day and $300 each following day plus cost of the round trip economy ticket.  We love travel and may offer deep discounts for the opportunity to visit interesting places.  International inquiries are welcomed.  

Payment Methods.

• Checks or Money Orders in US dollars.  Please make checks payable to Eastern Scientific LLC
• Bank Wire Transfer in US dollars ($300 minimum order required)*
• Purchase Orders from reputable US companies and organizations (Net 30 days from the date of invoice)
• Credit Cards: AmEx, VISA, Master Card.  Currently US$500 per order maximum**.

** Card payments for over US $500 are possible in case to case basis but are subject of 2% surcharge.

Warranty
Eastern Scientific products are covered by 30 days unconditional money back warranty.  Unused items returned past 30 days period are subject of 15% restocking fee.  Products must be returned undamaged and carefully packed, preferably in the original packaging.  Items ordered by customer mistake should be shipped at his/her expense.  Refunds will be issued on cost of goods only, our S/H charges are not refundable.   Custom manufactured and third party products can be returned only if found defective.  18 month limited warranty covers all products against any defects or malfunction that may appear during warranty period under the normal use.  In the unlikely event of finding such defects we will replace or repair defective unit at no cost for you (excluding cost of one way shipping).  Prior to shipping product, please contact us to obtain return authorization and mailing address.
